Open season on pineapples

Pineapple ? Turmeric Smoothie

A combination of some of Mother Nature’s best gifts. Turmeric supporting detoxing the body, lowering inflammation and supporting our immune system. The perfectly ripened  pineapple ? rough on the outside filled with golden goodness. Pineapple contains a digestive enzyme bromelain, a natural enzyme that supports the digestive system in breaking down and absorbing nutrients from the food we eat.

Recipe for the Smoothie

1 cup of diced pineapple ?

1 cup of coconut water

1 tsp of fresh or powdered turmeric

A pinch of cracked pepper (supports the absorption of curcumin in turmeric)

1/2 small lime (juice)

Blend away and serve. It will make about 6 cups of juice. If you have some juice leftover I use the leftovers to soak my Chia in for Chia cups or use this as a the base for ice blocks . All you need to do is add some coconut cream, a little sweetener  (I use coconut sugar) and freeze away. This is a great end-of-day summer ice block for when the kids get home from school. The pineapple is such a versatile fruit. Enjoy ?
